Lake (salar) in Afghanistan Gravity Survey

1st November: On 19 August 2014 New Era successfully completed a 22km x 7km gravity survey over a mostly dry saline lake (salar) in Afghanistan with the objective of mapping the lake sediment thickness. The survey was comprised of 1km line spacings with 250m station spacing. A total of 770 readings were taken at an average of 37 readings per day with a Scintrex CG5 semi-automated gravimeter. Digital terrain data were also acquired with the use of a Leica Real-Time Kinetic (RTK) differential GPS unit. The survey was completed on time, and the interpretation assisted the client to accurately place sonic drill holes into the deeper sections of the basin.
